Theo’s always been a staunch supporter of Sheila. They considered dating, a while back, but neither was ready at the time. He’s just as glad that he didn’t make any assumptions about her, then or now. The consequences, as our tough guy discovered a few strips back, can be painful.

This strip was partially underwritten by “Ambrose Bierce,” a person who wishes to remain otherwise anonymous. S/He reminds us of his/her namesake’s definition (from The Devil’s Dictionary) of conversation: “A fair for the display of the minor mental commodities, each exhibitor being too intent upon the arrangement of his own wares to observe those of his neighbor.” I think s/he’s trying to tell me that I have too much dialog in my strips…
