Test Case
Loving v Virginia (388 U.S. 1) was the 1967 case that ruled in favor of interracial marriage, based upon the Equal Protection and Due Process clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Chief Justice Earl Warren presided over a unanimous court in this case. It was cited (as precedent) in the 2015 decision that supported same-sex marriage. I wrote the script for this strip back in 2010; considering the current turmoil surrounding the court, I thought a bit more explanation might be in order.

I’m sure that once he gets going he’ll purr like a kitten.

How well I understand this. It’s been 5 years since I moved back with the folks. Covington got too much and at my age I wanted a break.
