Setting the Agenda

Nickey: “Great to see you, Shee! C’mon in!” Sheila: “Thanks, luv.”
Sheila: “Just so you know, petal, we’ve got all of tonight and as much of Sunday as you want; I’ve got nowt else on me calendar.” Nickey: “Terrific! I know we’ll have lots to do together.”
Sheila: “Well, my mother of pearl, what do you want to do first?” Nickey: “I don’t know; what do you want to do first?”
Sheila: “Okay. What do you want to do second?” (Dialog box: Tip of the titfer to Neil Simon.)

As Sheila and Nickey begin their sleepover party, they have to decide what they'd like to do first. Might not be too difficult after all.

More Cockney rhyming slang for you. "Mother of pearl" rhymes with "girl." "Titfer" is the short form of "tit for tat," which rhymes with "hat." The acknowledgement to Neil Simon is that I stole the last three lines of dialog from his play/screenplay "Chapter Two." Only steal from the best, and romcom is Simon's wheelhouse.
