One of the toughest parts of being a customer service rep is focusing on the issue that the customer actually needs help with, when your mind takes off on tangents like this one. The name “Gerald Gentile” is one that I tripped across in my help desk days; the company I was working for didn’t require asking occupations, so I didn’t get to confirm it. I did, however, write down the name for future shenanigans. To borrow from Jimmy Durante, “Good Night, Mr. Gentile, wherever you are.”
