Raised Right

Nickey: “Are you sure I can’t run you home?” Sheila: “No worries. I’ve got my bike.”
Nickey: “You sure you won’t run into any more jerks like that guy earlier?” Sheila: “I grew up with blokes teaching me how to handle meself.”
Sheila gives Nickey a kiss on her cheek.
Nickey: “Whoever it was, they raised you well.” Sheila: “I’ll tell ‘em you said so.”

Sheila is nothing if not sure of herself, and Nickey doesn’t seem to mind too much. There’s a lot of talk about “public displays of affection,” so much so that the acronym “PDA” came into general usage. Sheila is firmly in that camp of expressing good feelings in any situation. To borrow from Ms. Stewart, It’s a Good Thing.™

This strip is underwritten by my friend Rhys, who has always struck me as someone who would support the right to “do your own thing.” There’s no doubt jokes there, but I’ll be discreet (for a change!).
