Definition of a Date

Sheila: “Hey, Tiger, you still up?” Theo: “Still seeking the high score on the Dragonforce song.” Sheila: “Best of British luck, old son.”
Theo: “I thought you were Australian.” Sheila: “We’ve got the Queen on our money; we haven’t broken off all that much.” Theo: “You’re back late; you have a date or something?”
Sheila: “Or something. Bit of coffee with one of my teammates.” Theo: “Does that count as a date?”
Sheila: “Nah, we only ordered from the regular menu. A date would have required double-shots and extra cream.” Theo: “Not goin’ there.”

I stole the line about money from an episode of House M.D., as the titular character is deriding his young Australian colleague. The coins do indeed have a picture of the sovereign on them, although the paper money has other important figures. In the US, we have our own sovereigns on our money, except the (largely useless) $1 coin with Sacagawea (the only woman on the Lewis and Clark expedition). The future may hold changes; we’re to know in 2026, my sources say.

Meanwhile, Sheila’s definition of a date has given Theo more than he cares to think about! You, Constant Reader, might think about our recent milestone: On November 16, 2020, we hit 50,000 page views, and we’re still going strong. Thanks to all of you who have enjoyed and supported us all this time!
