Jester Song at Twilight

Sheila: “Move in? What…?” Nickey: “Relax, Shee, I’m kidding! You know the old joke: What does a lesbian bring to a second date? A U-Haul.”
Nickey: “I know we’ve got a lot to talk about. When I get nervous I deflect. Jokes, mostly. I’ll try to be serious. I’m just scared.”
Sheila: “So am I, pet. I haven’t fallen for someone like this since… well, never. It’s all so fast, but I want it. I want you. What about you? How do you feel?”
Nickey: “Did you hear the one about the marathon runner and the chicken?” Sheila: “That’s yer one, kid.”

Sometimes, humor is a good thing; however, when the conversation is supposed to be serious, chicken jokes are right out.

The title for this strip is borrowed from the romantic song “Just a Song at Twilight.” Bonus points will be awarded for knowing what film is the source behind the marathon runner and the chicken. More points for knowing who became famous for saying, "Is that a chicken joke?"
