Social Climbing

Lightfoot: “I don’t know if this will work. You know, the house is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.” Cora: “Theo’s explained that.”
Lightfoot: “Then how do you know that you’re going to look into the right window?” Cora: “If the house cares about me, it’ll guide me.”
Lightfoot: “That’s a possibility, I suppose.”
Lightfoot: “Any luck?” Cora: “Okay, I know this side of the house usually has windows…”

Shakespeare told us that “the course of true love never did run smooth,” but he never said anything about requiring a course of tree-climbing. Perhaps this is Cora’s way of branching out, getting to the root of the problem, brushing away the obstacles, leafing through options… Okay, your turn; I can’t be responsible for every pun that can be made.
