Theo: “It’s a big step, Cora. Do you really think we’re ready for such a commitment?”
Cora: “Oh yes, Theo. We’re meant to be together, out in the open, where everyone can see. Our love needn’t hide any longer! Say you’ll go with me! ”
Theo: “You have given me strength. Courage. Determination. Yes! Yes, I will go with you!” Cora: “Oh yes, my beloved, yes!”
Lightfoot: “Bravo! Encore! Encore!” Theo: “Ah, shaddap!”

Sometimes, ya gotta be silly about a problem before you can get serious. Besides, who doesn’t enjoy being really corny sometimes? I don’t think Theo and Cora will be taking lessons at the William Shatner School of Acting anytime soon (and my sincere and affectionate thanks to “The Shat” for letting me tease him). Romance needs comedy, and I think our happy couple has fulfilled that requirement well. (By the way, Lightfoot gave two anthropomorphic thumbs up to Shatner’s rom-com film Senior Moment (2021); the man still has his chops.)
