Burns Twice

Sheila: “Found meself a new snack, when I’m in the mood for something spicy.” Ophelia: “What’s it called?”
Sheila: “Wazombie peas – so hot, they eat your brains.” Ophelia: “Sounds like a metaphor for life.”

Sheila: “I’ll try not to scream too loudly.” Ophelia: “Medicated pads are under the bathroom sink, dear.”

Anyone who loves spicy food can tell you that there are inherent dangers to overindulgence. This pun comes from “wasabi” peas, the dried green peas liberally coated with wasbi — Japanese horseradish. “Horseradish” is so named for the size and coarseness of the root vegetable. Horses, like our occasionally visiting Aussie, Gabriel Clyde, are wise enough not to eat it.
