String Theory

Sheila: “Brilliant!” Lightfoot: “Freebird! Freebird!”
Cora: “Thank you all! I feel so loved. I’m at a loss for words.” Caedmon: “I think your guitar spoke most eloquently for you.”
Theo: “Why Caedmon, I didn’t know that you spoke string theory.” Caedmon: “Should you ever need new cat-gut, I have a good source.”

Cora’s impromptu concert appears to be a hit. And yes, Lightfoot knows the history behind calling “Freebird!” at a concert. It’s a joke on several levels, as he is sure that his housemate is smitten with the young guitarist, and neither has any intention of running away from the other. Even Caedmon gets a dig on Theo’s happiness. What else are housemates for?

At first, I thought the “Freebird! Freebird!” trope showing up was the comedic point, and then you pull out the ‘string theory/catgut’ puns. Bravo!
