Know Thyself

Lightfoot: “Cora, what kind of furry are you? What species?” Cora: “I’ve always thought of myself as a meerkat. Or maybe a ferret, because they’re both sleek and pretty.”
Cora: “An my artist friend drew me as a rabbit…” Lightfoot: “Theo, had you ever thought of yourself as anything but a tiger?”
Theo: “…no.” Lightfoot: “I’ve always been a red fox. Even before I found this house, I knew that I was a red fox.”
Lightfoot (out of frame): “Cora… how can the house know who you are, if you don’t?”

In the last comic, Cora is asked to know her mind; here, she is asked to know her Self. Those of us who are furry are usually quite sure of our animal self, and fellow First Peoples often know their primary Spirit Animal (they are usually the same, as Lightfoot demonstrates.) Take a moment, all of you, and look at who you are. Be you. Be proud. Know Thyself… and thanks for being one of us.     :3

My friend, and mentor of the furry community, had this uncanny ability to ‘see’ what species we are. He could tell dragons, and equines (as he was), and dogs and such. The first week after he introduced me to this fandom, he told me “you're very deer like’

Guess what? Yep, you guessed it.
