True Believer

Theo: “Lightfoot, am I going crazy? Did I just imagine finding someone in my bed this morning?” Lightfoot: “You’re not going crazy.”
Theo: “Then why doesn’t anyone believe me?” Lightfoot: “I believe you.”
Theo: “You do?” Lightfoot: “You’re talking to someone who hears the statues in the library talk to him.”
Theo: “That’s not a resounding recommendation.” Lightfoot: “You take your believers where you find them.”

Tests of faith are always difficult. Personally, I’d rather have Lightfoot believe in me, since I’d like to believe in whatever his library statues are telling him; at least it would make things interesting. Theo’s experience, though, was more than merely voices. There’s nothing like the full-on audiovisual experience to really test your faith.
