Film Critic

Theo: “Say, Lightfoot, I was wondering something.” Lightfoot: “I’m all ears, except for what’s not.”
Theo: “In science fiction stories, they say that if matter and anti-matter come into contact, it’s supposed to result in this huge explosion, right?” Lightfoot: “That’s the going theory.”
Theo: “So the whole idea is that something plus its antithesis equals boom.” Lightfoot:; “Succinctly put.”
Theo: “So if a movie has a climax followed immediately by an anti-climax, is it a bomb?” Lightfoot: “That depends. Is Will Farrell in it?”

Few things in the world will get me to avoid a film faster than telling me that Will Farrell is in it. There are just some things that spell “bomb” faster than others. However, tastes change over the years. In my high school days, I never missed seeing various Disney “kid films” in the theaters. I saw Kurt Russell in The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, Dean Jones in The Love Bug, and Ken Berry in The Cat From Outer Space. Now, I’m writing about furries. Life can be strange, no?

Tip of the titfer to my friend Rhys, who underwrote this script in its entirety. I’ll have to ask him what he thinks of old Disney movies…
