Mrs. Tuttobene Arrives

Mrs. Tuttobene: “Good morning, Lightfoot.” Lightfoot: “Haáhe, Mrs. Tuttobene! How’s my favorite librarian today?”
Mrs. Tuttobene: “I’m splendid, dearie. Is everything ready for us to open this morning?” Lightfoot: “We’ll be right on time, nine a.m. as always.”
Mrs. Tuttobene: “Wonderful. Anything I should be aware of?” Lightfoot: “Nothing in particular, I think.”
Bust of Nixon: *ahem* Mrs. Tuttobene: “Is Milhous being giddy over the judgment of history again?” Lightfoot (quoting a movie reference): “Top of the world, Ma.”

Let’s welcome Mrs. Mildred Tuttobene, the head librarian at Lightfoot’s chosen workplace. We’ll see her from time to time in matters pertaining to the library and, perhaps indirectly, with other members of the household. A few of you (my older readers) may be able to spot a certain actress upon whom she is based; you’ll have to work at it, though, since I’ve had to take a few liberties. Perhaps I’ll put a few hints one day, depending upon prickly thumbs and greener pastures…
