Christmastime Complaint

Caedmon: “I’m not the most Christmassy guy here, but some things I simply have to object to on principle. For example, How about this little seasonal ditty?”
Lyrics appearing overhead: Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king, “Do you know what I know?”
Lyrics appearing overhead: A child, a child, shivers in the cold, let us bring him silver and gold…
Caedmon: “Silver and gold? How about blankets, food, maybe a little soap to help fight the smell of the manger? The kid isn’t interested in numismatic features right now!”

Yes, Christmastime is upon us, although my friend Zeryx noted (back in October) that his local discount store was celebrating "Thankristmaween." I have an instrumental version of this song created by keyboardist Richard Bone, and I love his choices of electronic voices and bound-7th harmonics. This lyric, however, has always bugged me. I thank Richard for providing the best music without the numismatic futures.

Caedmon raises a VERY good point. If the holy fam did receive gold from Melchior or any other source, what DID Mary and Joseph do with it? Investing in an IRA certainly was not an option back then…
