The Stork Brought Me

Ophelia: “Hey, Shee, what’re you up to?” Sheila: “Just going through an old book of photos of stuff when I was just a joey.”
Ophelia: “Come on now; you were born just as human as the rest of us. We had to come here to find our furry selves.” Sheila: “Maybe it was foreshadowing. My mum says the stork brought me.” Ophelia: “A lot of parents tell their kids that.”
Sheila (out of frame): “Yeah, but in my case, it’s true.” She is pointing to a birth certificate signed by Thomas Howard Edward Stork, OB/GYN
Ophelia: “T. H. E. Stork.” Sheila: “Nice to know mum and dad always leveled with me.”

Sometimes, those old stories are more true than not. I, for one, think that Sheila would have been an adorable joey; however, it might have been a bit tough on her mum, having to shop about in Melbourne with the little ‘roo in her pouch. I mean, it’s one thing to remember to bring your own shopping bags, but really…! From what my Aussie friends tell me, it would get a little rough when the sales are on.
