Caedmon: “Would a gay male prostitute use arrears billing?” Lightfoot: “Probably not. Like any good contractor, he would want cash up front before erecting anything.”
Caedmon and Lightfoot look at each other in silence.
Caedmon: “That showed a level of sophistication that I’d not expected.” Lightfoot: “You’ve taught me well.”

It's obvious that I've been enjoying far too many British comedy series lately. Double entendre is a staple of great shows like Are You Being Served? and duos like The Two Ronnies  (tip of the tit-fer to Dan A. for turning me on to them). As regards this comic, the synonym of innuendo might be appropriate...
