Theo’s added comment is stolen, affectionately, from the great W. C. Fields. His original version of this quote was said only in private, since the word he used there shared the first two letters and was disallowed on radio, television, or anywhere else, at that time. He also had other reasons for not drinking water, including “That’s the stuff that rusts pipes” and “I’m afraid it might be habit-forming.” No wonder he drank whiskey straight.
